Dr. Fitzgerald completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at The University of Western Ontario in 1988 and continued her professional studies at The University of Waterloo. She graduated with her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1993. Dr. Fitzgerald completed her clinical internship at The Oxford Eye Hospital, in Oxford, UK, gaining valuable skills in the treatment and management of eye diseases. In 1996, she pursued advanced studies in the treatment and management of ocular disease at Northeastern State University, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

She practiced for 3 years in Oshawa before establishing the Whitby clinic in 1996. Dr. Fitzgerald has practiced in the Durham Region for over 20 years; a fact she’s very proud of. Dr. Fitzgerald also worked as a part time staff Optometrist at TLC Laser Eye Centers in Toronto for 7 years, where she developed advanced skills in laser vision correction care.

She is a member of The Ontario Association of Optometrists and The Canadian Association of Optometrists. Dr. Fitzgerald has special interests in laser vision correction and eye health promotion.

Born and raised in the United States, Dr. Chen received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2009 from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. She gained valuable experience in ocular disease diagnosis and treatment as well as primary care during her clinical internships at Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Bethel, Alaska and Dorfzaun Eye Group in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Chen has participated in mission trips to provide optometric care to underprivileged people in the Smoky Mountains area of Tennessee, and to the Yupik people in remote villages of Alaska. She occasionally provides eye examinations at a long-term care facility in Etobicoke.

Dr. Chen has been providing comprehensive eye examinations to patients of all ages and promoting vision and eye health in Canada since 2010. She believes regular eye examinations are an important part of maintaining your health and vision. Dr. Chen is an active member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, hiking, and indoor rock-climbing.

Dr. Michelle Ly received her Honours Bachelors of Science from the University of Toronto, and completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo, graduating on the Dean’s honour list. During her studies, Dr. Ly completed an ocular disease externship at the Jack C. Montgomery VA hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma. There, she gained invaluable experience in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma, retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, and various other ocular diseases.

Dr. Ly is an advocate of regular eye exams to monitor overall eye health. She once participated in a mission trip to Peru where she provided comprehensive eye exams to underprivileged people. She believes that everyone should have an understanding of their ocular health and vision, and is always open to answering patient questions. Dr. Ly is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and Canadian Association of Optometrists. In her free time, Dr. Ly likes listening to music, biking, and travelling. She is fluent in English and Vietnamese.
